Fiesta Time!

Last weekend was full of wedding fun! Mac and I kicked off the weekend with a wonderful Fiesta Shower in Nashville. My lovely MoHs and their families hosted this fun-filled party for us! We had a delicious Mexican meal, festive decor, and my very favorite dessert. Mac and I were also treated to some awesome gifts. I can't wait to bring everything down from the guest bedroom and start using it in my kitchen.

Check out a few photos (thanks, Dad!) from our Fiesta Shower below!

Getting ready to dig into our delicious Mexican meal!

Friends! It is so fun to hang out with everyone!

Enjoying las paletas (my fav!) with my MoHs (also my fav!).

DeeDee and Kermit also enjoy las paletas!

I got really freaked out when I realized these notecards had my new name. Kaitlin Priestley. So weird.

Thanks again to the Peras, Pembertons and Wardens for hosting such a wonderful party!

Lakehouse Barbecue

Wow! The countdown to October 1 is getting serious! Today there are 32 days until our wedding. Time sure does fly! It especially flies when we have wonderful parties like the one below each weekend.

In a very strange twist of fate, shortly after Mac and I began dating we realized that his family is related to our closest family friends and neighbors, the Whitworths! So to celebrate the family connection and enjoy some time together, the Whitworth family hosted a Lakehouse Barbeque for us and family friends.

It was a beautiful afternoon on the Kentucky Lake. There was delicious food and Mac and I got some great gifts. I was most excited about the fact that Mac got his shop vac. I had been hearing about that thing since he registered for it, so I was so excited that he received it at this party. Thank you to everyone who planned, helped with, or just attended this celebration! It was such a fun night and we can't wait to see everyone again on October 1! Hope you enjoy a few photos below!

Showered With Love...at work!

Like I mentioned in the previous post, Mac and I are so fortunate! We have truly been blessed by the best friends, family, and even co-workers. Some of my ALSAC friends hosted a wedding shower for us on August 11, and Mac and my Mom were able to attend! It was beautiful. It is amazing how a few decorations and flowers can transform a conference room! My co-worker and friend, Marcie, took all of the lovely photos below. Thanks to everyone for all of the wonderful gifts and the fun party.

Stay tuned for photos from our Lakehouse Barbeque this past weekend in Camden!

Showered With Love

Mac and I are so blessed! We have several groups of friends and family who are hosting wedding showers for us! We kicked off the wedding fun last week. My work family hosted a party for me last Thursday and then that weekend, friends and family hosted a bridal shower for us in Murray, KY.

I am still waiting on the photos from the work shower, but I will post those soon. I have several pictures from the Murray shower below. Mac traveled with me to Murray and stopped by the shower at then end to visit, snack, and help load all of our wonderful gifts.

We are headed to Camden this weekend for another wonderful party at the Lockhart Lodge on the Tennessee River.

All of our gifts...before and after!

 Several generations of Cochran's, Cooper's, and Jackson's.

My gift opening assistant and flower girl!

Leyton was an expert at opening gifts!

How Time Flies!

Mac and I have officially been engaged one year! He proposed one year ago this weekend. It honestly feels like yesterday, so I cannot believe it has been a whole year.

How did we celebrate our one year engagement? Well I was on a work trip in San Antonio and Mac floated the Buffalo River with two of his friends. Romantic, huh? Haha.

Curious as to how Mac proposed? Check out the "Engagement Story" tab on the top of the blog.

We officially have 55 days to go until our wedding day. When Mac proposed, I had 14 months to plan our wedding...now I have less than two!

I am so excited about our big day and I cannot wait to marry you, Mac. I look forward to many more years together. Love you!

Promised Photos

A few posts ago, I mentioned my shopping trip of a lifetime. I have a few photos of the aftermath of that trip below. If you remember, we were taking a family vacation to Florida right after our shopping day in Atlanta. The photos below are of Mom and Dad trying to configure our car with our new purchases plus our Florida supplies. As you can see, it was very entertaining frustrating.

We've Hit the Big Time

Mac and I were featured on the Society Page of the Camden Chronicle! Over the years, friends and co-workers have always been amazed by the ways of Camden society. You see, in Camden, you don't send wedding invitations. You just place your wedding announcement in the weekly paper, and as the article says, all friends and family are invited to attend.  So for all of you that have been in dis-belief, here it is! This is the official announcement from the Camden Chronicle. It went out in the paper last Thursday and we will post it one more time before the wedding.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their first lesson in Camden culture.

"It's like Santa's workshop..."

I can't believe that it is already time to send out our wedding invitations. I have been working very closely with my wonderful stationery store, Mrs. Post, for many months, so it is a little bit odd to actually hold the invitations in my hand. I am in love with them. Seeing our names in print makes this wedding seem so close! I cannot wait.

If you know my schedule, you know that the end of July is one of the busiest times at work for me. There is no way I could haven gotten these invitations in the mail without the help of my Mom. In order to be budget-friendly we decided to "diy" much of our invitations. We inserted the envelope liners, inked the edges of the invitation, folded the gate fold, tied the ribbons, and I did all of the lettering. Whew! It is a serious process.

Today, my friend, and bridesmaid, Whitney, came over and helped us knock out a ton of invitations. I also recruited Mac to come over after work to see what he could do. Mom and I started working on them at 10 a.m. and closed shop around 8 p.m.  It definitely felt like Santa's workshop, just not quite as fun. Haha.

I stopped during the process and snapped a few of the photos below. I don't know if my kitchen table will ever see daylight again. We hope to get the invites in the mail in about a week, so hopefully you will have yours soon.

Mac and Trina LOVE assembling invitations!

Sorry, Whit! I had to prove you helped!
