Snow Day

It had been forecasted, but I still had my fingers crossed extra tight for SNOW! When I woke up this morning I was so excited to see the white stuff on the ground! I had taken a vacation day today, but Mac had to go to work. I have loved looking out the windows all day long. Here are a few snow photos!

My Night

There were several things I planned to do tonight. I started out being productive by taking Pepper on a walk right when I got home. Mac was at wing night with some of his friends, so the house was empty. I knew I could accomplish a ton of to-dos. However, I threw all of that out the window. I sat down on the couch just as White Christmas came on tv. I turned off the lights, watched a movie, stared at the Christmas tree, drank hot chocolate and threw Pepper's ball 800 times. I think it was a perfect night!

Pepper's Been Good!

Pepper got to meet Santa yesterday at Petsmart. She was so good! She talked to Santa and told him everything she wanted for Christmas. I am pretty sure she asked for socks and real leather goods. However, she is getting a ball and a bag of treats! What a sweet girl!

My New Favorite Treat

I recently discovered Pistache French Pastries here in Memphis. To my delight, they now sell these delicious macaroons at Miss Cordelia's on Mud Island! I pick up a bag every so often as a very tasty treat! Yum!

Tacky Christmas 2012

Mac and I hosted our annual Tacky Christmas party on Saturday night. It was a bit warm for Christmas sweaters, but all of our friends brought the Christmas spirit despite the 70 degree temperatures. A great time was had by all!

Pepper was such a good girl at the party! She loved getting to visit with every person! After she growled at me a few times, I realized that she was too hot in her sweater, so I took it off and let her just wear her Christmas collar!

Bre brought Christmas photo props for us. I had to bust out the glue gun, but once they were assembled, everyone enjoyed them!

Mac added battery operated lights to his sweater this year. It was a huge hit.

The group photo was a self-timer win! Unfortunately, Mac is covering up Pepper so you can't see her!

Linea (my Nana) loves me and Pepper!

My sweet friend, Leah, was in from NYC for the Marathon. So glad she was able to stop by!

Christmas Crafting and Decor

Happy Holidays! Hold on to your hats...this is going to be a big post! I have lots of photos to share. I started my Christmas crafting back in October, and I am pretty happy with the way everything turned out.

This crafting project consisted of tying a million (well, it felt like a million) strips of fabric onto a strand of lights. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I have seen these prints online. From blogs to Pinterest...they are everywhere. The actual canvases are around $200, so I decided to give it a try myself. I kept the gold one and gave the red one to Mom. I just painted the canvas and then used a paint pen to write the words. "O Holy Night" is one of my all time favorite Christmas carols. I am very happy with the final product!

Here is a (rather dark) photo of our tree. We think it is around eight feet tall. I added the red "P" as part of the topper this year. I thought about glittering it, but once it was spray painted red, I was happy with it!

This is probably my favorite of all my holiday crafts. I just traced a reindeer on my canvas, then put down glue and glitter in sections. I let it sit 24 hours and then shook off the excess. I hit it with a little hair spray to set the glitter. I also made one where I painted the canvas gold first, but I gave that one to Mom without snapping a photo. Oops.

Below are some additional photos of our Christmas decor. Hope you enjoy!

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all! Mac and I are excited to spend time with our families and stuff our bellies full of delicious food. We will be traveling around West Tennessee the next few days. I also plan to decorate for Christmas and bake some yummy pumpkin treats all while watching ELF and listening to Christmas music. It just couldn't get any better.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
