A few more weeks

Pepper had her ear taping appointment this afternoon. We had our hopes up that it would be the last one...but no. She has a bit of infection in one ear so she is out of the tape until Wednesday. After that he said she needed a few more weeks. Gah!! This doggie mom is more than ready for the tape and the cone to be gone!! Here are a few photos with her untaped ears. And a photo of the sweet surprise Mac sent to work today.

A Lazy Weekend

Mac and I had a very lazy weekend...not by choice but due to sleep deprivation. We met some friends at South of Beale for drinks and dinner Friday night. When we got home a few hours later, Miss Pepper had gotten sick EVERYWHERE! Let's just say I no longer have a rug under the kitchen table. So we were up with her Friday night, ran a few errands on Saturday, and picked up steaks for dinner. Mac went to meet up with some friends and Linea came over to watch the women's gymnastics trials with me. Pepper was still not feeling well and cried to go outside every single hour. This continued all. Night. Long. So...our Sunday was a lazy one. Pepper started feeling better towards the end of the day so we attempted a new method of taking her on a walk. You can't tell from the photos below, but it was very successful!

Fourth of July

Mac and I have had a great fourth of July holiday. We have also decided that we would like Wednesday off every week! We had a lazy morning then an afternoon of pool and grilling at his Dad's house. I made lemonade, deviled eggs with bacon, and mini fruit pizzas. We came home to rest and then headed down to the river for fireworks! Here is a photo of us sweating it out! Hello. Are you still out there? I know it has been a while. A long while...over a month. And I am going to blame it all on Miss Pepper. Why? Well lets just say that she keeps us very busy! 

Let me give you a quick overview of whats been going on in our lives over the past month:

• I went to Chicago for work. It was wonderful...cold but wonderful. I hope Mac and I can go there together sometime soon!
• I ran my first 5K. I had been training for over a month. I was very proud. I ran it in around 37 minutes...which was under my goal of 40 minutes. Slow but steady.
• Mac and I registered to run the St. Jude Memphis Marathon as part of a five person relay team. More to come on that!
• We took Pepper to the grand opening of the Overton Bark dog park. She had explosive diarrhea in the middle of the pet parade.
• Pepper had her ear crop surgery. It has been awful and terrible and I would never do it again. We hope today is her last taping.
• Mac started a new job at International Paper!
• I went to Las Vegas for my friend's bachelorette party and had a blast!
• Mom and Dad came to Memphis to go to see Chicago at Live At The Garden. We had so much fun. Mac's parents and Jack and Dynelle came too!
• I celebrated 50 years of St. Jude at work! We had a fun filled celebration week and weekend.
• Mac and I went to Knoxville for the Woody Johnson wedding. We had a fantastic weekend.

Whew! Well there is our past month in a nutshell. While we were in Knoxville this past weekend, Pepper stayed with Mac's brother and had a wonderful time playing with her cousin Teddy. The photos below are from when she got home and passed out! I think she had a great time. She is getting SO big.

Whew

Being a puppy parent is tough work. Mac and I never sit down! Here are some Pepper updates. At week eight she weighed 12.8 lbs and at week ten she weighs 18.6 lbs. She is getting so tall. She looks like a little deer. She is busy busy busy. Loves trash and eating rocks. She does great in the car and sleeps all night every night. We are still having an accident in the house every now and then...but she's getting better! We are on our way to Mac's dad's house to see if she will swim! Here are some recent photos from my phone!

Champions

Mac has been a part of a bowling league since January, and last night was the final night of the season. Since it was a "fun" night...the wives were invited to attend. There was a raffle for prizes, cash given away for strikes, and the trophy presentation. Mac's team were the champions! They were more than a little excited!

Pepper Update

Well Mac and I have survived the first few days of puppy ownership! We are working on learning how her schedule works with our schedule, when she needs to potty, sleep, and play! She has still not used the potty in the house, which is awesome! I am so proud of her for that. We are working on the sleep schedule. Night one, she slept most of the night. Night two, she cried all night. Night three, she has one potty break at 10 pm. And last night she slept all night. Hopefully Mac and I are successful at wearing her out right before bed.

She has had an exciting past few days. Pepper met her cousin Teddy, a German Shepard! They played very well together. She went on a walk in the riverfront park and many walks around our house. However, she is biting like a snapping turtle so we are working to fix that. Enjoy a few adorable photos!
