Quick Update

We are back! But still working on catching up from being gone! Here are a few quick updates:

Mac and I had a wonderful time on our ski trip to Park City, Utah! I have a few photos and will get around to posting those soon. I am already itching to plan our next ski vacation!

We had a great Valentine's Day together yesterday. It just so happened that our Orpheum season tickets fell on Valentine's Day. We had a tasty dinner at Majestic Grille and then went to the Orpheum to see Million Dollar Quartet. WOW. What. A. Show. This is a must see. Come to Memphis and plan on seeing it this week! I am sure it will be in Nashville soon...so just go ahead and mark your calendar for when it comes to your town.

Mac and I have a pretty easy week this week...just working through the laundry pile and hoping to cook dinner one night soon.

Much love to everyone!

Honeymoon pt. 2

Let me make a side note and say how BEAUTIFUL it is in Memphis today. If Phil seeing his shadow means six more weeks of this, then bring it on! I am going to make a quick post of photos before Mac gets home from work so we can go on a bike ride!

Enjoy!

Another lovely sunset. You can see by this time we have mastered the self-timer on the camera.

Another towel animal. I just loved him.

Self-timer excellence! We must have really liked our outfits this night because I have a million pictures of us from this one evening!

 Pretty beach. Pretty water.

Not sure what the thumbs up is for, but I did love that they lined all of the sidewalks with the coconuts from the palm trees.

An area of the beach with beach huts

Yet another self-timer photo!

Honeymoon pt.1

Better four months late than never, huh? My bestie, Court, mentioned that I had never posted any of our honeymoon photos on the blog...and I realized that she was right. We dove right into the holidays after the wedding and honeymoon, and I honestly just forgot. So enjoy the next few posts all about our Mexican Honeymoon!

Mac and I literally got one hour of sleep after the wedding before we headed to the airport. We took a limo from Camden to Memphis and got to our house at 2 a.m. Our flight was at 6 a.m., so we literally set our alarms for one hour and took a short nap. We got to the airport and our flight was delayed, and delayed and delayed. We quickly realized that we would miss our connecting flight in ATL, so I asked the gate agent to book us on the next flight from ATL to Cancun. We were originally supposed to get to ATL around 10 a.m. catch a 11 a.m. flight and be in Mexico by 1 p.m. With our sudden change of plans...we got to ATL around noon and the next flight to Cancun was at 7 p.m. YES! We had SEVEN hours in the ATL airport. It was pretty terrible. However, we finally got to our resort around 11 p.m. and literally collapsed. We were so happy to be there. We ordered some nachos from room service and immediately went to bed. The next few days were wonderful. Here are a few photos!

This was our first day on the beach. We loved the swinging beach beds and were pretty much able to get one every day.

This was kind of in the middle of the beach at the resort. They do weddings here and romantic candle-lit dinners at night.

 Obligatory towel animal photo.

BEAUTIFUL sunset on Day 2. You can see that I spent 30 minutes curling my hair prior to this photo. The Mexican humidity taught me my lesson pretty quickly. You will notice the abundance of up-dos for the rest of the trip.

Mac enjoyed his time on the beach bed on Day 3. By this time I had learned that I could not enjoy the all inclusive drinks during the day as well as the night. I just enjoyed reading my book and listening to the ocean. However, I am pretty sure Mac tried every drink on the menu...twice. :)

Oh Starbucks

I just love Starbucks. My love was confirmed this morning when I saw their festive new cups! I hope they keep up the new designs throughout the year.

Random Wrap Up

From the last post to this post...the weather has done a 360! Today it is sunny and about 70 degrees in Memphis. It is so confusing. I love this warm weather, but I don't want to get too attached if winter is just around the corner. Who knows!?

This post is going to be filled with random iPhone photos that I have been meaning to post for a while! I will update you on our trip to Chattanooga in the next post. Stay tuned!

This is Mac being "fashion sassy" (as we like to say) with his new boots and Patagonia fleece.

I used some of my Christmas money to buy this fun little platter. (Thanks, Joe and Kathy!) The attachments at the top are held on by velcro and you can buy different ones for all occasions. I have a few in my collection already!

Mac and I went ice skating at the Mid South Ice House in Olive Branch a few weekends ago. I bought a Groupon that was about to expire, so we made the trip! It was so much fun. We can't wait to go again soon.

I have major ice skating skills. I also have on a shirt, sweater, fleece, and coat. That is why I am so puffy. :)

One of Mac's drivers had been promising to bring him a King Cake from New Orleans. Well, I thought the driver forgot about it, so I ordered Mac one from Whole Foods. Wouldn't you know, the same day the dang driver brought one to Mac's work. Oh well...at least it was delicious!

I had gone without nail polish for almost a month...which is very much not like me. I finally painted my nails last week a new color by Butter London. I love it!

A Duck Boot Kind of Day

It is rainy, cold and just gross in Memphis today. It took all the effort I had to get out of bed this morning.

Mac got a pair of duck boots for Christmas...and today is the first day he's been able to test them out. He sent me the photo below this morning. I think he is happy with their performance.
